Laminated Gold
Also known as "14-karat gold-filled"
585/1000 gold-filled (14-karat) is a plating process where a thick layer of 585/1000 (14-karat) gold is mechanically applied to a base metal, such as brass or bronze.
This gold layer must represent at least 1/20th (about 5%) of the total weight of the item's metal, covering all significant surfaces of the jewelry.
Gold-filled jewelry is therefore particularly durable, resistant to everyday wear, and waterproof.
750‰ Gold
Better known as 18-carat gold
18-carat gold is the most noble alloy commonly used in jewelry. Its high pure gold content gives it remarkable beauty and durability — a true treasure to wear every day. At YAY Paris, we have chosen responsible gold.
The gold we use primarily comes from Europe, with no connection to mining. Our suppliers prioritize recycling: the majority of our supply comes from precious metals voluntarily provided and traceable, by individuals in France.
We also collaborate with European partners certified RJC CoC (Responsible Jewellery Council – Chain of Custody) or LBMA, to ensure rigorous traceability and a strong commitment to ethical jewelry.
Sterling Silver 925‰
Also known as "sterling silver"
This silver alloy contains 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals. Its color is identified by its white appearance, its brilliant and luminous finish.
925 silver jewelry is resistant to body movements, water, and is hypoallergenic.
Tip: the more you wear your 925 silver jewelry, the more it will retain its natural shine.
