Gold-filled
Also known as “14k gold-filled”
Gold-filled 585/1000 (14k) is a process in which a thick layer of 585/1000 (14k) gold is mechanically bonded to a base metal such as brass or bronze.
This gold layer must make up at least 1/20th (around 5%) of the item's total metal weight, covering all significant surfaces of the piece.
Gold-filled jewelry is therefore especially durable, resistant to everyday wear and to water.
18k gold (750‰)
Better known as 18k gold
18k gold is the most precious alloy commonly used in fine jewelry. Its high pure-gold content gives it remarkable beauty and strength: a true treasure to wear every day. At YAY Paris, we have chosen responsible gold.
The gold we use comes mainly from Europe and has no link to mining. Our suppliers favor recycling: most of our supply comes from traceable precious metals voluntarily brought in by individuals in France.
We also work with European partners certified RJC CoC (Responsible Jewellery Council – Chain of Custody) or LBMA, to guarantee rigorous traceability and a strong commitment to ethical jewelry.
925 silver (925‰)
Better known as “sterling silver”
This silver alloy contains 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals. It is recognizable by its white tone and bright, luminous finish.
925 silver jewelry withstands the body's movements and water, and is hypoallergenic.
Tip: the more you wear your 925 silver jewelry, the longer it keeps its natural shine.
